happy november

…which means it’s almost happy december, which means it’s almost time for presents. yay!!
holly had an excellent weekend full of pedicures, el torito, costco pizza, deformed carnival bears, window shopping, mad tv/cheaters-watching and texas chain saw massacre-ing. thanks kolan :)

…anywho. everyday after we eat lunch here at work and end up in a “foma” (also known as a food coma the state of tiredness you’re in after lunch), someone makes a trip to starbucks. that someone is usually me (99% of the time). when everyone actually shows up for work, the same 6 drinks are ordered: grande cappucino with 1/2 packet of equal, grande caramel frappucino, 2 iced caramel macchiatos, a regular doppio with cream and an iced doppio with a shot of sugar free vanilla syrup and cream (that’s mine). needless to say, when the guy sees me walk in he says “hey holly… everybody at work today?”. and i say “yeah… we’re in a foma”… to which he responds by marking 6 cups (4 clear plastic for iced drinks, 2 paper for the hot) with “Holly” and starts making my drinks. It’s pretty sad. I guess it’s sorta synonymous with Cheers, where everyone knows your name and how much foam you like on your cappucino. So big ups to the Starbucks on the corner of Rancho Santa Fe and San Marcos Blvd. everyone at holly’s work thanks you for waking them from their fomas.

That’s about as bad as me going to port o’subs and they always know what I’m going to order. I haven’t been there in awhile either. I hope they didn’t forget!

I’ll trade you 6 Port of Subs locations for just one In N Out.

Wow, I haven’t heard of Port of Subs since ‘99 back at El Camino when lunch periods were mandatory and they served the only tasty food. Port of Subs threw down on the condiments man, mayonnaise and mustard for days… I think I just made myself hungry. We should open up an In-N-Out / Port of Subs in O’side by the Popeye’s Chicken (like those odd Carl’s Junior / The Green Burrito places). Game?

game! but it’ll be the Atkins version of In-N-Out/Port o’ Subs. Everything will be bunless and wrapped in lettuce. I think we could make a killing.

Atkins style eh…? I could totally go for that, but we may have to add a "Husky-People-Splurge-Here" counter in the back that only serves chocolate milkshakes, animal style double-doubles (with everything), and turkey sandwiches with extra avocado, mayonnaise and a stick of butter for good measure. We’ll make it really hard to find though, so only the devoted "huskies" will be able to find it. I know I’ll be there :)

Dude, love the In-N-Out. My co-worker Lorri and I had planned to drive to the one in Auburn (100 miles from Reno) this evening, however, snow over the pass - I’m dedicated - but not enough to put chains on the car, and try to make it over the mountain. Good news - my new territory for work now includes Auburn in California. I have to visit twice a month! I already know where I’m having lunch…and dinner. ;)

Went to Sacramento last week with my friend Erin. Stopped an In-N-Out for dinner. She got hers protein sytle. Ok, seriously, that thing was so gross looking. All slimey and green. I couldn’t even handle it.
