television’s corruption
2/03/2004first off…HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMA!! you don’t read this, but still…
..and go..
i love me some tv. so tina’s in my room (uninvited, btw) and we’re watching VH1′s Illest Minority Moments… then William Hung (she bangs! she bangs!) starts singing. Tina looks at me and says “… you know…. ::hesitate:: he’s actually not that bad…” LOL!!! he can hold a note like janet and britney. i guess that’s all you need in this industry anymore. just push the magic pop button in the studio and she bangs! she bangs! then they got the boy singing “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” knowing he can’t pronounce half the words in the song. the one clip of that 4 minute song that they show is when he sings “… it’s enough to make kings and vagabonds…” but of course, mr. hung , accent and all, it sounds more like “it’s enavvvv to make kings and WAGAbonz…”. oh, i was dying.
back to illest minority moments…
so they did this segment on the characters of sesame street, where they all had ethnicities. apparently, bert is puerto rican and ernie (short for ernesto) is dominican, animal is mexican, and big bird? a vietnamese drag queen. i almost fell on the floor i was laughing so hard. those are the only 4 characters they did, so help me break down the rest:
grover: the new drug dealer who keeps smoking his own weed, that’s why he’s so paranoid
cookie monster: pimpin’ black man. by “gimme that cookie”, he ain’ t talking about baked goodies.
the count: ?
mr. snuffleupagus:?
oscar: angry jewish man
elmo: gay asian boy
telly : persian
what you think?
