thank the Lord, Almighty…

…for East Coast time. I just downloaded the new Jill Scott CD, a day before schedule. No, I couldn’t wait. GO GET IT. It’s Beautifully Human. Literally. That’s what it’s called. Beautiful. If you don’t want to buy the whole CD, at least get “My Petition” off of iTunes. You’ll love it. And if you don’t want to get the whole CD, you’re a mothereffin’ idiot. Thanks. ;)

So Sunday night is yet another experience with the Purple one. Yup. Me and Tina going to see Prince. AGAIN. Don’t be jealous. This time it’s at Cox Arena in San Diego, so at least we don’t have to drive all the way to LA. Whew.

Anywho. School’s good. Work is… well, work. And everything on the radio sucks.

Get Jill Scott, I said!

i’m gonna git you, sucka!

I commute 120 miles a day. The bad part is I have 28,000 miles on my car, and I’ve had it for 8 months. The not-so-bad part is that the driving is 98% freeway. I don’t mind driving at all, except when there are slow bastards in front of me or tailgaters behind me. But me, being the evil genius that I am, have finally figured out a way to get back at BOTH types of bad drivers (I do a lot of thinking during my commute).

I get ‘em wet.

I’m that evil person that uses her windshield wiper WITH fluid and cleans her window while going 90mph, just so your window gets wet enough to be annoyingly dirty.

Yeah, go ahead and tailgate, you summummabitch, yo window’s ’bout to be nassssssty.

I’ll do it if you’re going too slow, too. I’ll get around you, alright. I’ll get around you AND WASH MY WINDOWS! Take THAT! Of course, I don’t make it too obvious. I mean, you have to wait a few minutes to do it or it’ll look like you’re doing it on purpose. I know I’m passive agressive, but at least I think it through :)

Quote of the Week

9/08/2004

I went out with my friend Anthony this weekend. There was a particularly large woman blocking my view. I’m guessing she was 400-450 lbs… easy. So needless to say, I can’t see shit. I wasn’t trying to be mean or anything , but she was a big girl! Here’s how the conversation went:

Holly: Ohmigawd, Anthony… if I ever get that big, shoot me.

Anthony: Fuck that, I’ll have to harpoon you.

Mean, I know… but funny, nonetheless. You can’t tell me that ain’t funny. :satisfied:

I’m Growing Up Too Fast

4/08/2004

I need to slow my roll…

I went to Macys to go shopping for new shoes for work… and went straight to the Naturalizer/Easy Spirit section. I’m growing up too fast. That’s just not right. I should be in the Chinese Laundry/Steve Madden/Enzo Angiolini/Bandolino/Nine West section. But no, my eyes dart right to Naturalizer. Should I be ashamed? But they’re really cute shoes! It’s a rounded toe with a really low heel, but not the thick chunky old lady heel. I call them 1″ stilettos. :) Super cute and super comfortable… except for the nasty blister I have on the back of my ankle, but that was before these shoes. Anywho… I’m really taking a second look at my shoe choices. I’m 22 years old, choosing COMFORT over STYLE! What’s the matter with me? I think I’m growing up too fast. I should be drunk or passed out on a lawn in front of my sorority house, not picking shoes because of their aerosole comfort padding! I’m losing my touch…

let’s play “How Many Songs Can We Sample at Once!!

3/08/2004

Wow. Nelly got like 15 songs he done sampled in his new song “My Place” with Jaheim. Do people play instruments anymore? Or do they just rummage through they momma’s old records and hope Swiss Beats can put a bassline to it. He sampled “Isn’t It a Shame” by Patti Labelle AND “I Like It” by DeBarge, both in one song. How you do all of that? Dang. It can’t be that hard to come up with a beat, but I guess it’s just easier for your target teeniebopper audience who doesn’t know who the hell Labelle is to think that you just broke out with an original song. Sad sad SAD, Mr. Nelly! Originality is a rarity.

Am I lame for downloading the speeches from the Democratic National Convention from iTunes? They’re good! Go download them. They’re FREE n’ everything! I like this one the most.
