The Knife

1/03/2005

We go to the café in Nordstroms as least once a week… more than once a week if I can sucker my sister into it. They have super good food… and more than just good food, they have the “Knife”.

Everytime we go to Nordy’s we get the same cute waiter. His name is Chris. It’s gone so far as when we get there and sit at a table not in his section, he’ll switch with one of the other waiters so he can help us out (how sweet is that!). It’s pretty well known between the girls at lunch (and BJ) that I think he’s hot, and that’s why I always want to eat there (but the food really is good!). He’s super nice, offers us hot chocolate lava cake and gives us enough of those chocolate mints to make a meal.

One day, Chris was clearing off our table and a knife almost slipped from one of the plates and hit me, and I, in my sarcastic Holly fashion, say “Whoa there, knife”. We all laughed, and he handed us our little reciept with the mints that said “Thanks – Christopher a.k.a. The Knife”. I guess that little reciept fell on the floor (Lord knows all we wanted were those damn good chocolate mints anyway), and Chris’ manager found it.

The next time we went to Nordy’s (the following week), “The Knife” told us how his manager put “The Knife” instead of “Chris” on the next week’s schedule, and everyone had their own little nickname… I guess there’s “The Slingshot” and “The Gun”, too.

Yesterday, I told him it would be my last day eating there since I found another job, and it wasn’t close enough to eat lunch here anymore. So I gave him a hug, and the girls made me take a picture with him. I just happened to have my camera :)

Holly and The Knife.

And that, my friends, is the tale of The Knife.
I totally less-than three him.
