So I’ve had this plant on my desk for damn near two months. The little flower buds kept falling off. I felt like a failing plant parent. Then I came in this morning, and low and behold:

I got a bloom, bitch!
Meet my Gardenia plant. I named her “Gardenia” (how appropriate, huh?). So I’ve been watering her and taking her outside for sun… and the leaves kept turning yellow and little flower buds would just fall the fuck off. I was discouraged. Highly discouraged. And now I have a little fragrant flower. I’m such a proud plant parent. Maybe I should start talking to her. Does that work? She’s looking a lot healthier now, though. Keep “Gardenia” in your prayers.

Maybe you’re giving it too much direct sun. I have Cala Lilly plant that fries in direct sunlight, thus I keep it in the shade outside and it does well. Indirect sunlight baby. Indirect.
I’ve just been keeping it by my desk. Is florescent light enough? We have those funky daylight bulbs in, too. Does that count as indirect sunlight? :O
