A week ago today, I had the scrumtralescent experience of seeing John Legend live at the Roxy in Hollywood – which is amazing because the Roxy is the size of my right thumb, which meant a ridiculously UP CLOSE experience with the Legend. How close was I? This close. He was previewing his new album that’s being released next month. I’ll admit, there were one or two songs where I was kinda like “ehhh, that’s alright”. But for the most part, it was fantastical. The one I remember in particular is called Show Me. I didn’t even like his new single at first, but it definitely grew on me. I can’t wait for the official tour to start. Who’s with me?

Speaking of tours, India.arie and Robin Thicke have a tour scheduled. You know i’m going to ALL of those shows. I heart Thicke. India’s good too. I’ve seen Robin live before (he opened for Keyshia Cole – who i could have passed on, btw) and it was awwwwesome. He touched my hand n’ everything – Jonathan’s witness.

I think I love music more than the average person. There’s a really good quote on the cup of my Triple Grande Soy Mocha from Starbucks the other day:

There’s somethign so amazing about music; it can transform the dullest of environments into beautiful places. Put it on, hear it out, look around, revel in the moment. Here lie the beauty and clarity that get you through your day. – Tristan Prettyman

Amen Tristan. I mean, I think everyone appreciates music, but I appreciate it so much I’m willing to drive 4 1/2 hours to see a show that lasts 1 and pay 4 times the price of the original ticket.

Thank you, Justin, for sending me a text message to let me know that my blog is stale. I’m well aware of my lack of bloggage. Sista’s been busy. Here’s your mini-update.

- I’ve been to Vegas more in the last 30 days that I’ve been in my entire life. It’s callin’ me!

- I’ve been drunk more in the last 30 days that I’ve been in my entire life. It’s callin’ me!

- I throughly enjoy table service at clubs. Call me boujie.

- I can now appreciate good vodka.

- I got my hair did.

- I effin’ LOVE the new Justin Timberlake CD (not that I “have” it, because it’s not “out” yet)

- I’m leaving for Vegas tomorrow night.

- I’m sick.

- I’ve just started watching Weeds on showtime. Thank you, Jonathan and Laura, for fueling my television addiction.

- I bought a ticket to see John Legend at the Roxy on the 13th, and spent 4 times the amount of the original ticket cost – and it’s okay!

That’s about it.
