Credit to Emma for this find. She went to their show and bought their CD. My favorite tracks are Mama’s Room and Lay Me Down.
They’re cute punky lil’ white boys. Usually not my style, but good music is good music is good music.

you know what? I spend so much time in this office… really. I planned on being on vacation today through friday. but where am I? At the frickin’ office, that’s where. it’s so much easier to get things done when there are less people around, so this week I’m playing catch-up and getting my thoughts and goals organized for 2007 (because that’s what managers do, right? right!?). Here’s the latest set of improvements:
Mikee took some super cool panoramic shots with one of his fancy gadget cameras:

We painted the door with chalkboard paint, hence all the (thankfully) erasable scribblage.
Also just added: Decals!!

These were Mikee’s Christmas from Emma… which I kinda bogarted and made him use in the office. My bad. But how awesome does it look? We haven’t decided what we’re putting in the little circles yet. We were thinking maybe a panoramic picture? Any ideas? Don’t worry, Chanel, I won’t paint in the middle of them.

We finally started taping shit up and painted our office today. It’s still a big hot mess in here, but here’s what we did:

The green wall is where my desk is (I’m takign the picture from my desk). The blue wall runs along Mikee’s desk.

This is the bookshelf that can never, ever, ever move from this location. Not because of it’s weight, but because of the green area I painted behind the largest square. 1/2 inch to the left or right… and it just looks wack.
Anything is better than hospital white walls. ANYTHING.

bad bad non-blogging stale blog having holly.
lots of things happened the past couple months, in semi-chronological order.
• I got a promotion ( + raise, woohoo!) and have the best team ever (and by “team”, I mean me and one other person… but he’s the greatest thing since peppermint mochas during december)
• I had my first trip to Baltimore
• I saw Washington DC for the first time
• I saw every major DC monument in one 8 hour day (it was A LOT of walking)
• I lost my Gucci sunglasses that I bought in Amsterdam while in DC (a sacrifice to the gods for being able to travel so much on work’s dime, I suppose)
• Apparently, while in DC, I walked across a bridge and ended up in Virginia, soo…
• I had my first trip to Virginia, which means…
• I traveled to two states and a district in a matter of 8 hours
• I saw Air Force One (that shit is big… like helicoptors rollin’ 5 deep)
• I had my first trip to NYC (see two posts ago)
• I saw John Legend and Robin Thicke @ the HOB SD, which might have been the most perfect concert ever. As Stephanie said, it was “too much sexy for my soul”
• Jonathan gave me his iPod video (woohoo!)
• It just died, literally (tears)
• Jonathan moved to Hong Kong Phooey
Thanksgiving was good. We deep fried another turkey but this time I brined it over night so it would stay extra juicy. It works well – I highly recommend it.
Christmas is coming up quiiiiiiiickly. Wondering what to get me? See the second to last bullet point above. Apple gift cards would be super duper… ’cause I really can’t live without an iPod. Really. It’s hard. Music = my life, my sanity, my inspiration. I can’t be a designer without inspiration, right? Right! Pitch in, bitches… Holly needs a new iPod.
Hope you’re all well. Sorry for being so absent, I promise I’ll try harder. Maybe if I stop reading Perez and actually start writing my own blog, I’ll be better.
