ever since i came back from new york i’ve been thinking about trying to duplicate the red velvet cupcake i had at Daisy Mae’s BBQ w/ clarione. this past sunday i finally hunkered down and did it. after a few hours of googling “the best red velvet cupcake ever”, i found a recipe that seemed close to what i was trying to replicate - complete with cream cheese frosting.

i’ll never buy that canned frosting crap again. after making this simple cream cheese vanilla bean frosting, i realized how easy it was. mmm.
