Back home

chocolate + bacon + cupcakes = grreat.

16/03/2009

I spent a ridiculous amount of time cleaning my apartment this weekend. And by cleaning I mean moving the mess from room to room, until it all ended up in my bedroom and then I got tired of cleaning (don’t worry, bedroom, I’ll get you tonight!). So, after the kitchen was near spotless, I decided it didn’t look right clean, so I got the itch to bake some cupcakes. What kind of cupcakes, you ask? Chocolate and Bacon cupcakes with Chocolate Buttermilk Frosting, of course! Here’s my handy work:

The consensus is they’re rich and delicious, but only 1 should be eaten if you don’t want to clog an artery. I don’t skimp on the bacon, or the frosting. When asked to describe these little treats, I say:

You like sweet & salty, right? Think of it like a chocolate covered pretzel, except it’s chocolate cupcake covered bacon.

A truer story has never been told. True story.

hi. adele > everything ever.

I went to see Adele last night (3.09.09) at the House of Blues San Diego. I’m pretty much speechless. She is beautiful and amazing and sounds perfect. Probably 1/2 of the show was just her, a mic and a guitar, and I couldn’t have been happier. She performed her ENTIRE album, plus a few cover songs (her Etta James ‘Fool That I Am’ cover was perfection). Here are a couple of shots I managed to get with the handy iPhone when the security guard in front of me was busy checking out the hot mom with her 7 year old kid there (fff you, all ages shows!)

How cute is she all barefoot and singing? She’s adorable. Is Adele playing near you? Go see her. Now. I’ll buy your ticket.

It’s.
That.
Serious.

Early Shopping Ideas: 15 Days to Go

3/03/2009

It’s that time again kids!!! 15 days left until the big 27. I’ve decided that I don’t like it when my age is an odd number. Twenty-seven… that’s just not a fun number to me. So, we’ll call it 15 days until the 1st anniversary of my 26th birthday. I usually start this countdown a bit earlier, but as previously stated, not too stoked to turn twenty-seven. Alas, you could buy me this:

How fierce are these? You could get ‘em for me and make turning twenty-seven a little less tragic.
