It’s Holly

A few months ago Mikee was invited to participate in “The Cooper Video Wall”, a video art installation showcasing the photography and videos of several artists. Mikee’s contact mentioned that she needed another artist to participate, and Mikee, being the awesomely awesome spectacular and fabulous person that he is, kindly forwarded over some of my work. And… well, whaddya know, they liked it. So, along with Mikee’s super sick work, you’ll be able to see some of my favorite photos as well.

this has been floating around the innernets for a long time, and i’ve been meaning to do it. So here, my first album (you should make one, too). Here’s what you do:

1) Band Name: The first random Wikipedia article you get is your band name. Click here for a random Wikipedia article.

2) Album Title: Get a random quote here. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3) Album Art: Get a random Flickr image here. The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4) Photoshop it all together.

…having a tattoo makes me feel a little bit more badass.

so, why “be.”? i interpret it a few different ways.

first and foremost, b = beatriz, e = eartha – my mom and my sister, respectively. they’re also known as my favoritest two people in the world ever. ever ever? ever ever.

secondly, life seems to always be this battle of what i want to do vs. what other people want me to do vs. what i think people think i should be doing. and it all comes down, in the end, to me thinking to myself “shit, girl, just do you.” this is my constant reminder to just… be.

thirdly, there’s the struggle between “live every day like it’s your last” and “shit, how i’ma pay rent next month”. i have these lofty ideas about life, sometimes. i’m a dreamer, after all. i’m struggling to find the words to describe what i mean right now. it’s like… this fine balance between not wasting your time with mundane things and living your life with passion, but keeping in mind tomorrow and the next day and the next day and being responsible. does that make sense? so now, i can look down at my wrist and remember it’s all okay, and just… be. maybe one day i’ll turn that period into an exclamation point.
