Not only is she gorgeous, she’s a ridiculously talented singer/songwriter, and I had the privilege of spending Sunday afternoon with her… taking her pictures, singing to The Gossip and watching Glee. That’s how we roll.

I can’t remember the last time I heard an album and absolutely couldn’t stop listening to it. Enter
Quadron. It’s phenomenally phenomenal. They remind me a lot of
little dragon. What is it with the Swedes and the Dutch comin’ out with this super chill downtempo funkdafied soulful shit? I love it and I can’t get enough. If you have any other recommendations of music along these lines, share the love, please. Check out some Quadron-y goodness below.

this has been floating around the innernets for a long time, and i’ve been meaning to do it. So here, my first album (you should make one, too). Here’s what you do:
1) Band Name: The first random Wikipedia article you get is your band name. Click here for a random Wikipedia article.
2) Album Title: Get a random quote here. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3) Album Art: Get a random Flickr image here. The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4) Photoshop it all together.
My Results (I got pretty lucky!)
1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neritina_oweniana: a small freshwater snail (awesome!)
2) Young is the one that plunges in the future and never looks back. – Milan Kundera (1929 – )

Your turn, Mikee, Tina and Michiimaru… and whoever else wants to do it! Do ittttt.

So, I’m still on this Kevin Sandbloom kick. Mikee told me to stop listening to him or else I’d get sick of him… this has yet to happen. My latest obsession? His rendition of Sade’s “Is It a Crime”.

I’m sorry to say… I slept on Janelle Monae. Hard. Her CDs have been sitting in my iTunes Library over a year. I had to re-discover her on a mixtape [big ups Real Niggas Light Candles - do it]. This song, this song right here, this song is my shit.
Enjoy, perras.

I haven’t done one of these in a while. My bad. Don’t get me wrong, there’s been lots of music out there worth sharing, just not enough time to share it all. Alas, here’s one for you: Kevin Sandbloom.

still trying to figure out how that voice comes out of this man
I went to a local spoken word thing a few weeks ago, and Sandbloom was their featured guest and I was blown away [note: don't you love that feeling? When you hear new music with absolutely no expectations, no expectation of what to expect, and it just blows your mind? that's up there with falling in love if you ask me]. In my head I was thinking “When did Jack Johnson and Al Green have a baby?” That’s the best way I can describe him. Judge for yourself:

I went to see Adele last night (3.09.09) at the House of Blues San Diego. I’m pretty much speechless. She is beautiful and amazing and sounds perfect. Probably 1/2 of the show was just her, a mic and a guitar, and I couldn’t have been happier. She performed her ENTIRE album, plus a few cover songs (her Etta James ‘Fool That I Am’ cover was perfection). Here are a couple of shots I managed to get with the handy iPhone when the security guard in front of me was busy checking out the hot mom with her 7 year old kid there (fff you, all ages shows!)

How cute is she all barefoot and singing? She’s adorable. Is Adele playing near you? Go see her. Now. I’ll buy your ticket.
It’s.
That.
Serious.

This is my first post dedicated to bands and artists I come across that apparently everyone else and their momma knew about but me. It’s my official blog post to let everyone know I’ve officially hopped onto the bandwagon. So, first in “i heart music – wait for me, bandwagon” is Kings of Leon.
Kings of Leon: Closer
This text will be replaced by the flash music player.
So, not typical “Holly” music, right? One of the girls at work came into the office and said “Ohmigawd, is that Kings of Leon playing?”
I say: “Yup, I’m playing it. See, I like white people music, too!”
She says: “That’s not white people music, that’s like, band of boys from Tennessee white people music”
I say: “I guess I like red people music, then.”
Kings of Leon: On Call

Kings of Leon: Sex on Fire

So it’s good, right? I thought I’d slow down the bandwagon for a couple miles and let you guys jump on. You’re welcome.
